Ana Streczyn specializes in Code Remediation, Consulting, and Web Development. Ana is based in Los Angeles CA.
Services
I provide front end accessibility remediation and developer support for teams working toward WCAG compliance.
I work directly in WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, and custom coded environments, implementing fixes at the code level. This includes correcting semantic structure, improving keyboard interaction, resolving focus issues, addressing color contrast, and refining forms and interactive components.
My approach is practical. I review existing audits or internal findings, identify what actually needs to change, and implement or guide the fixes in a way that fits the platform and development workflow. I validate my work using keyboard testing and screen readers to confirm that issues are resolved in real use, not just in automated scans.
I often act as a bridge between design and development, helping teams understand what the success criteria require and how to meet them without unnecessary rework. I also review components and user flows to identify accessibility gaps and areas of risk before they become larger compliance problems.
What sets me apart is that I stay close to the implementation. I do not just point out issues. I work through them in the code and make sure the fixes hold up in practice.
Background
I have over 15 years of experience in front end development across WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, and custom coded environments. My background is in building and maintaining production systems, which led me into accessibility work.
Almost seven years ago, I began focusing more intentionally on WCAG compliance and remediation. I noticed that teams often received detailed audits but struggled to translate the findings into clear action. I went through that process as well. Audit language can be vague or disconnected from the actual structure of a site, and it is not always obvious how a finding applies to a specific component.
Most of my accessibility work centers on remediation. I interpret audit findings, identify root causes in the HTML, CSS, or JavaScript, and implement or guide fixes directly in the code. I validate changes using keyboard testing and screen readers to confirm they work as expected.
What drives my work is removing confusion. I like taking something that feels complex or overwhelming and making it clear, both for users and for the teams building the product. When accessibility is explained clearly, it becomes easier to fix and easier to maintain.
Beyond Work
Outside of work, I’m usually chasing something I want to learn. I love reading, especially historical fiction, watching films, and spending time with friends and family. I keep meaning to get consistent with my guitar again, return to the Italian I started, and revive my spoken Spanish, which has gotten rusty.
I am especially drawn to things that have been around longer than I have. I've been experimenting with restoring old photographs to see what can be brought back. I like figuring out how something was originally made and what it takes to preserve it. If I ever stepped away for a few months, I would happily spend that time learning restoration work in a small European town rather than sightseeing.
I care deeply about animal rescue, and one dream of mine is to have a bigger house with a yard so I can give a home to animals that need some TLC, especially the older or sick ones. I have a soft spot for those babies.
