Services

I help organizations identify accessibility barriers on their websites and digital content so they can improve usability and move toward WCAG conformance.

My work focuses on WCAG accessibility reviews that help identify common barriers affecting keyboard users, screen reader users, and people with low vision.

When reviewing a site, I typically evaluate a representative set of pages and user flows to identify patterns of accessibility barriers that may appear across the site.

My work focuses on WCAG accessibility reviews that help identify common barriers affecting keyboard users, screen reader users, and people with low vision.

  • WCAG 2.1 and WCAG 2.2 website reviews
  • Accessibility review of selected pages and user flows
  • Accessibility issue documentation
  • Keyboard navigation testing
  • Focus visibility and keyboard focus order checks
  • Targeted screen reader checks
  • Practical implementation guidance for resolving accessibility issues
  • Follow-up verification after fixes are made

I frequently work with small organizations and nonprofits that want to improve accessibility but need practical, straightforward guidance on where to begin. I often work with small organizations and nonprofits that do not have in-house accessibility expertise and want clear, practical guidance on where to begin improving accessibility. My goal is to help make websites more useful, intuitive, and navigable for everyone, including people with disabilities.

Background

I am a DHS Trusted Tester certified accessibility professional with a long-standing interest in digital accessibility that began early in my web career.

Many years ago, I was hired to provide PDF accessibility consultation on a USAID project. That experience first introduced me to accessibility and its impact on real users. Throughout my career in web development, design, and digital product work, accessibility often became part of my responsibilities, and I was frequently the person teams relied on for guidance when accessibility questions arose. My accessibility reviews draw on the DHS Trusted Tester methodology and focus on identifying issues that affect keyboard users, screen reader users, and people with low vision.

Although accessibility was not always my formal job title, it has consistently been part of my work. I have recently formalized that experience by completing DHS Trusted Tester certification and focusing more directly on accessibility reviews and guidance.

My background in web design and front-end development using HTML and CSS helps me explain accessibility issues in practical ways that developers and content teams can implement.

I am also interested in AI and automation and hold certifications related to Make (Integromat) integrations, which I often use when building workflows and systems.

Beyond Work

Outside of work, I enjoy creative and technical projects and spending time learning new things. I originally came to accessibility through my background in web design, and I still enjoy exploring how design, structure, and technology come together to shape how people experience the web.
